My Story

Welcome to Sue Sue's Petals. I am Susan Canavan, floral designer and owner of a home-based, floral studio located in Kingston, Massachusetts. I have always had a passion for flowers and gardening fostered by my gardening loving parents. In 2012, I decided I wanted to learn about designing with flowers and enrolled in Rittners School of Floral Design located in Boston where I learned the art of floral design. After receiving my diploma in 2013, I opened Sue Sue’s Petals and began putting my newly learned skills to work creating flower designs for all ocassions. As my business evolved, I began frequently working with wedding couples helping them bring their wedding flower vision to reality. In 2018, I continued to advance my skills by completing a design course with the renown floral designer and educator, Leanne Kesler, where I received my certification in Advanced Wedding Floral Design from the Floral Design Institute.

Today, I am enjoying everything about working with wedding couples from the day they walk into my studio to the day of their wedding. I particularly love to celebrate along with them what I love best, beautiful flowers. I am even discovering a little about growing my own flowers.
